- Series consists of five sets of architectural drawings and plans created, used and kept by the Department of Buildings from 1922 to 1969. The drawings in this series all relate to civic works. The first set is the largest and consists of 115 sheets of architectural drawings that once formed part of a large scrapbook put together by the Department of City Architect and Supt. of Building/Department of Buildings. The scrapbook was assembled to highlight various municipal projects from 1922-1941. These drawings include preliminary sketches and elevations for boat and field houses, park gates, gazebos, lavatories, shelters, and many other civic structures. Projects were often carried out in conjunction with the Parks and Works departments. This series also includes a set of bound floor plans for Old City Hall from 1950, a set of City Hall and Civic Square proposals from 1927-1955, a set of proposal plans from 1944-1946 for the Magistrates' Court Building, Police Administration Building and Police Stations 1-3, as well as a 1969 block plan of Civic Square that shows zoning restrictions.
