La pièce concerne Pierre Aubert (o.m.i.), arrivé au Canada en 1844, missionnaire à la Rivière-Rouge, puis supérieur de la résidence d'Ottawa en 1851. Il retourne en France en 1857, où il devient supérieur général de son ordre. La pièce comprend une lettre rédigée à Bytown. Titre basé sur le contenu de la pièce. Le document est en français. La pièce porte les cotes 1G3761 et 39715. La lettre, inventoriée par Philéas Gagnon, datant du 2 mars 1854 est manquante.
