Scope & content
Fonds consists of photographic prints taken by photographer Eliot Wright as part of his project titled On Dupont, along with accompanying digital copies of the images. The project started in 2016 and documents a specific period in time along one of Toronto’s most actively transitioning streets, which is situated alongside the Canadian Pacific Railway line. Leaving behind its industrial past in the face of rapid redevelopment, Dupont Street epitomizes the fact that the modern, urban landscape is always in flux. The photographs express the complexity of Dupont Street while accentuating how photographs can guide and construct our understanding of place. Fonds also includes exhibit cards from the exhibitions Further Along The Road (2019) and On Dupont (2017), displayed at Toronto galleries.
