- Scope & content
- Series consists of five photographs by Peter MacCallum which document the demolition of Joy Oil storage tanks, which were located on Unwin Street in the Port Industrial District of Toronto. They show the entrance to the site, the interior and the exterior of Tank No. 1, and the site of Tank No. 4 before and after it was dismantled. The series reflects Toronto's changing waterfront and the obsolesence of these landmark structures which had been typical of the Industrial District since the 1930s.
