- Scope & content
- Fonds consists of the personal papers of Allan A. Lamport created, accumulated, and used primarily during his political career, including his tenure as mayor of Toronto (1952-1954), chair of the Toronto Transit Commission (1955-1958), and various terms as an alderman and controller. Also included are materials Lamport created and collected earlier in his life and after his formal retirement from municipal politics. The records are arranged in 18 series including subject files of mostly textual correspondence, scrapbooks, newspaper clippings by subject and by date, editorial cartoons, Olympics material, reports, books and publications, magazines, daily journals, and campaign material.
