Scope & content
Letter: enclosing letter dated Aug. 22, 1837 addressed to Captain Ducharme advising him of the instructions of the Earl of Gosford. Advises that the reason he had brought up the matter of the petitions again was because the Indians themselves had begged him to do so as they had expected an answer long before this time and hoped that the Governor might order an enquiry into the affair.
